Cherry tree planted this February. Was growing fine in container, sprouted leaves and new growth, no blossoms. Seemed ok in the ground up until last 2 weeks or so. Leaves brown at the edge, some brown in the middle, see photos below. 2 year old apricot planted nearby has yet to leaf out this spring. Another cherry and peaches, planted several years ago in the same vicinity are doing fine.
Too much water, not enough water? Dig it up and I not a container for this summer? Any advice.
I would be a little worried about your young tree Msailer.
Keep it well watered but also look for any sign of die back at the shoot ends.
It may be just a blip as the roots try to cope with the new growth and the tree will recover and grow on ok.
But.....if Die back starts to happen then it suggests bacterial canker.
If that does occur, contact your supplier...they may just replace, with any luck!.
