Transplanting Japanese Red Lace Leaf Maple

Hello helpful gardeners. I have a Lace Leaf Maple that has a diameter of about 5 ft. It has been in the ground for at least 15 years. I am moving very shortly and I would love to take it with me. It's in a very awkward spot. I

My first question is how far out I will have to dig to safely remove the tree?

I will post some pictures later today to give you guys an idea of what I am working with. Thanks everyone :D

Dormancy needs to come befor transplanting does. Can you take a tree in november by cutting a soil ball one human can work? yes.

Can you take a tree in august with a soil ball one human can move in August, and have the tree live? Maybe not.
