Volunteer transplant

I moved from my home a year ago where I had a Japanese maple in the ground, for 18 years). I brought pots of plants with me and low and behold I have a little maple growing alongside a shrub in a pot. Yesterday, I removed it and re-potted it all alone. Not sure if I should feed it, or just let it alone. Any ideas...Also, how do they propagate??
Sure not from acorns, seeds or cuttings.. :?:

I would just leave it alone until it gets established and starts showing new growth. Fertilizing now can just be another stress.

Don't quite understand your propagation question. You have just propagated yours. But Japanese maples can be propagated from seeds or cuttings. Acorns are baby oak trees.

Hi,
Maples are usually propagated by keys ,maples have little insignificant flowers which turn to keys which fall to the ground like little helicopters spinning round and round.
