japanese maple
Hi would like to buy a Japanese maple but I live in Minnesota can it live in zone 3?

The short answer is no, they can't live in zone 3. But you can grow them in containers and winter them over if you have the space and facilities to do that. YOu have to allow them to go dormant, then provide a protected place where the temperature will remain below 40, some say, 50, others say, but not go lower than about 15 degrees.
