Help! my baby Red Japanese Maple babies are spindling.

I purchased my seeds and went through the process in getting them
to germinate. Now they are 4 inches high and soooo tiny they fall over.
I used Miracle Grow soil mix and have bottom heat and top grow light and
keeping them moist, but not wet. What
am I doing wrong? :?

How close ar the lights? They need to be within a couple inches of the top of the trees. As close as possible to give them the most light, but without burning the leaves. I'd help them out with a stake for now, and get the light real close. Oh, and REMOVE the bottom heat! Once they sprout the bottom heat is no longer needed, and infact can encourage the seedlings to grow too fast and weak.

It can't harm to tie the baby trunks to some sort of support. If you want to go tradtional, natural colored bamboo plant stakes or used chopsticks work great. But tie them loosley. Just enough so they don't flop completly over, but enough to keep the trunks straight.

Those are good items to stake them with. Right now I have plastic knives.
