seeking information on Lanterns
I recently just bought a Yakimi-Gata for a friend as a wedding present while it is a great piece. I am looking for information, history, even folk lore that I can share with them about these lanterns. Any help ofcourse would be appreciated. Thanks, Rob

I think you mean "yukimi" (I.e., snow-viewing) lanterns

Trying a search on "yakimi" won't give you much unless the site also misspells the word, but there are lots of web pics of yukimi around.
History may be harder to find, you may want to research some of the good books readily available that go into some of the history of typical ornaments. I didn't see much snow-viewing lantern history mentioned on a Google search, but I wasn't serious about looking, sorry.
