Mister for the birds

My outdoor birds - chickadees & finches - love my mister. Nothing fancy, just a spiral tube with a cap on the end with a small hole that spews misty water. I bought 2 of them at the hardware store and it turns out the birds love them. At first, I put one next to the bird bath. And that worked nicely. Yesterday I moved the mister next to some lilac branches. The birds loved sitting on the branches near the mister. It was fun watching them fly in and out, landing on branches in the mist to cool off. Today I moved the mister so that it is high up in the lilac tree. (It's a big lilac.). This is dven better. It's fun to watch the birds enjoying the mister in the tree in this unusually hot draught weather. The water drips down and slowly waters the lilac plant at the same time.

I also have several bird feeders close to the mister. I'm don't know if the mister alone would attract the birds or keep them around like the feeder does. Just thought I'd throw that in.
