An extra gift

Weekend before last I spotted 3 black swallowtail butterfly caterpillars on 3 dill plants. :D They were very happy munching away. We left Wednesday to spend time at the lake (Toledo Bend). When we got home Sunday the caterpillars had moved off to make their chrysalis. The dill plants are stripped of foliage but are all ready putting out new growth. Wish I could find the chrysalis. My niece loves critters and would be thrilled to watch the process of metamorphosis. I am hoping for monarchs on my milk weed. I love sharing my plants with the butterflies.

:) :)

There was a black swallowtail that spent a long time fluttering around my deck where the dill is. I hope it left some gifts behind!
