Squirrels eating tomatoes

The squirrels we thought we discouraged from entering out garden for good last year are back, and are starting to eat our tomatoes. Does anyone know if the Scarecrow motion-activated sprinker works to dissuade these critters from entering our garden? They must really be hungry, because they took green, baby tomatoes in addition to ripe ones.
