My fellow gardeners,
Now that winter has arrived in Washington DC, and I have retreated to my sanctuary in West Virginia, I will prepare myself to once again sally forth into my garden and do battle with all of the native West Virginia critters that so love my vegetable and flower gardens. Scores of deer, hordes of starlings, gaggles of geese, parades of insects and a neighborhood horse or two, make my gardens very interesting places to be. The things that grow in my gardens and the wildlife that my gardens attract, are truly beauties to behold. I remind myself each time---
Next year I will chase them off!!
