I posted earlier, that it was like a switch went off. Over a three day period the activity exploded. Now each day there are at least 20-30 species of bees and wasps at work and numerous butterflies are all over the yard. My squash went from almost none getting pollinated to almost all getting pollinated. Am so happy to have such large numbers of insects move into the yard.

Just lost my long winded reply to you, will try again!

It is amazing to me, what can be done with modestly priced digitals. Mine is a Sony Cybershot DSC-W55. I chose the camera because of its size (about the size of a cigarette pack), its Carl Zeiss lens, and ease of use of features, especially point and shoot and zoom.

I would recommend that anyone thinking of getting a digital should consider buying an extra battery and a one or two MB memory stick.

My shots posted online are usually fairly low resolution. That cuts upload times, and generally lets the photo size match the screen size for emails and other posting. Each image is around 150 KB and is 640 x 480 or near that size.

This photo was taken on one of the lawns near the house.

This is a set of 3 deer are not to far from the house. Critters every where yes they are. I see deer all the time and rabbits. Sometimes I see elk and bear also.
I have been looking up the birds that come by and so far have quite a list of birds.

Great shots! My wife and I were walking the other day and a large doe was grazing beside the road. She finally looked up at us and bolted when we were about 25 feet away. Quite surprising to get so near one, but the deer do seem to know when it is not hunting season. Same with the wild turkeys. Out of season and we see them almost daily. In season, and you are lucky to get within a quarter of a mile of the crafty birds.

I think the animals get used to us, some of the rabbits will not move untill you are right on top of them. We have a mountian lion that come through some times, I do not think I want to walk up on him.

This is looking to the Mt. Hood wilderness and the Hukleberry Wilderness as you can see the critters have a lot of room to roam. I love seeing all the beasts, birds and butterfliys.
