Plants and Bird Cage
I have a 5 year old Indian Ring Neck Parakeet, and he has a big cage in our living room. I wanted to kind of dress it up a little bit. Has anyone ever had any experiences with something like this? Also I want to put wheat grass in the cage because he eats it. I just can't find the seed anywhere. Any ideas?
If you go to a grocery store of the "natural" or "organic" inclination, they will often have "wheat berries" for sale in the bulk containers.
These are wheat seeds. They can be sprouted as well as cooked, and if you put them into a small plant pot, the sprout will grow upwards and become wheat grass.
I grew wheat last year, and the "grass" stage was from about 1 to 6 inches high, when the plant began to split for the eventual ear of wheat.
