Please help me identify my trees in my back yard

I have three trees in my back yard that I was told were Japanese Tallow trees. However, I cannot find a single picture of a Japanese Tallow on the web ... only the Chinese.

These trees are green in the spring. Then they sprout yellow weed-like things all over them about 1 foot long. Then the yellow weed-like things turn into green lanterns that contain small green pods inside.

Hi, stacimull.

Just as a "quick and dirty" response, I'd suggest taking pictures (both long shots and close-ups) of these trees and then showing them to the folks at your local independent nursery/garden supply store.

Not only will they most likely be able to identify them (or tell you for sure who can), they'll be able to give you advice on watering, fertilizing, pruning, etc., to maintain these trees in the best of health.

Happy arboring.
