Hollies turning brown and leaves falling off - Please help

I just planted a group of China Girls and Boy hollies. Within a few days the leaves are turning a dark brown and are falling off of a few. The plants only get sun a few hours a day. I have amended the soil with peat and have made sure the drainage is good, and also have spread the roots before planting. Any ideas?

Bad time for planting; water these often (twice a day is not too much right now)...

Planting during these hot dry months is just a junk shoot and I stopped gambling a long time ago...
