fuschia advice needed

The fuschia is established and large in size, came with the house in an older turn-of-the-century neighborhood, but it is too close to the fence so it needs to be moved. Not sure if it is a 'Hardy Fuschia' or not. Fall is usually a good time to transplant, but December is here already. Is it too late to transplant this year? Would it be better to wait until next Fall? What about Spring? Would that be a good time? It is my understanding that 'Hardy Fuschia' can be transplanted in the Spring with good results. But what if this particular shrub is not a hardy variety. Need some advice from a fuschia expert.
Also, the plant was just pruned back yesterday. How does this affect the transplanting prospects? Does the shrub need some time to recover before it is transplanted?
