When should the buds break?

I have a couple of small trees (Silver maples) I keep on my desk, which I stuck in a fridge for a month or so to attempt a dormancy period. I pulled them back out about two and a half weeks ago, so I know pretty accurately when the temp got above 40 for these two.

Although they are both still pliant, neither one of them has broken any buds or shown signs of growing new leaves. About how long does this normally take?

First signs of new growth/buds occurred this week. just about 1 month to the day from pulling them out of the fridge.

Yay, I learned something.
