What is this on my Holly bush?

My Holly bush is covered in this. Can it be controlled or is it too late?

I think it is a common holly leaf spot called tar spot that occurs often in cool and wet Springs. The spots change colors throughout the growing season. I am not aware of a specific fungicide that helps control this but, in most minor infestations, disposing of the affected leaves, more sunlight and improving airflow are the solutions. But there is nothing you can do if Mother Nature sends cool and wet Spring weather again in future years though. It is an aesthetic issue and usually will not kill the plant. A big infestation may stunt the holly though. If "too many" leaves are affected, I would leave them all there and wait for them to be replaced by new foliage. At that time, I would caerfully collect them and throw them in the garbage (not on a compost pile). If someone posts the name of the fungicide, try to apply it in Spring before this issue started and per label directions. I would do that on every Spring from now on if you can $$..
