Apple Tree

I would like to plant a honeycrisp apple tree in my yard in Door County Wisconsin. Will it bear fruit if I only plant one? When is the best time to plant trees? Can they be planted in summer or fall or does it have to be Spring?

It will bear little or no fruit without another apple nearby. Most crabapples will work if the blooms overlap. The better apple suppliers usually only sell bare root which would require spring planting unless you want to temporarily pot it up. Beware of any supplier that does not identify the rootstock.
