Mulberry Tree

I recently needed to cut a fruited Mulberry Tree down do to storm damage there is a two foot stump left. I heard that the tree stump may sprout new growth and eventually grow is this true does it grow back quickly?

Mulberry does grow quickly— you are likely to see multiple new shoots once the weather warms up. Especially since all the energy that had been stored in the roots will be pushing up.

I suspect that if you want the tree to grow back, you need to prepare the stump appropriately and selectively prune the new shoots to choose what will become new trunk(s). It might depend on how big the tree was — maybe a photo will help?
