I have ( 2 ) 15" Colorado Blue Spruce trees planted in a very large container. This is the year I have planned for moving them into their permanent home in my lawn. One of them has a bunch of dark, dead looking tips. The tree was 100% fine looking as of 2 weeks ago. I imagine that I need to trim those off. Will that be enough to get it healthy again, or is it doomed? If not doomed, what do I need to do to fix it up?
The tips that are brown are about 1" long.

Don't know if it is doomed or not, but you can try to save it. Cut each branch that shows any browning back past all the damaged area, making your cut an inch above/outside a bud. If you would have to cut into bare wood where no needles grow, remove the whole branch. Once you cut into the bare wood, it will not regrow from there.
Have a bucket of diluted rubbing alcohol/water handy and dip your pruners in it between cuts to try to avoid spreading disease.
