Peach Tree - leaves fell off

Hi there, I bought a peach tree 6 months ago. It’s in a pot on my deck. This summer it produced several peaches but a month ago all the leaves started to fall off and now it’s basically bare. The nursery said it would be fine in a large pot for many years. I have it on my sprinkler system so it gets a little bit every day. I live in Los Angeles so it gets sun every day.
Is this normal behavior in the winter? Or does that not sound right?
Many thanks in advance! Happy to now be a part of this community

Peach trees are deciduous and loose their leaves in the winter in temperate climates. In areas that have no true winter they can shed some or all their leaf in the ‘dry period.’
Providing the drop is gradual there is no problem. Just keep the soil lightly moist until re-growth starts.
