What is this larvae?

Larvae in bush
Larvae in bush

Hi,
Can anyone identify what type of larvae this may be? The white seems to be some kind of wet sap-like substance with one tiny orange colored egg inside. My evergreen bushes are covered with them and I would like to treat the infestation before the larvae grow.
Thanks

If it looks like somebody spit on the plant then they are spittle bugss. The orange larva is a frog beetle. Beetles of all kinds come out at this time of the year. The beetle is well protected by its mucous covering so insecticides don't work all that well. I just cut out the infected branches and bag and dispose. I have used a jet of water to blast them off but they always come back and you would have to remove the mucous coating before you can even use anything on the bug.

They don't cause a lot of harm although they are unsightly.
