Sorry, I have no idea what the first one is but the second reminds me of Thistle.

If this is it I suggest you prevent it from going to seed if it is not too late. I find this thorny plant to be obnoxious and invasive.

about the first one, I found out it was Kochia scoparia
regarding the second one, I don't have a clue, so I'm going to do some search on thistles. I don't want to seed it:), I just came across this plant while hiking and wonder what's it called. thanks again!
