I need some help. I have a live oak from louisiana that I planned to winter inside in NJ until we moved back to the south. Now with a few days until our first frost, I've noticed some galls on it. How can I get rid of these before I bring it inside for the winter? I am deathly allergic to bees and wasps. How long would it take for these guys to come out if I kept it inside without removing them? I can't seem to find anything about keeping smaller saplings inside before direct planting.
Any help or insight is seriously appreciated!

I think your concerned about a totally different type of wasp, than ones that might nest in oaks.
That said, I cannot imagine why you could not clip off galls and dispose of them safely away from you.
Your live oak will need cool weather above frost. Do you have a cold room or enclosed porch? it may be a southerner, but still needs a winters dormancy.
