Pine Tree Question

Hello,

The pine tree is a Fraser Fir and it has some yellowing on the leaves. I am not sure why. The earth where the tree has been planted is very rich (the lot the house is on hasn't been changed since pre civil war). What could this be?

Here are the pictures:

It would help if you tell us where you are and what your weather has been like. Drought?

Drought or winter injury could do that or herbicide damage (this happens when tree sit in lawns that are chemically treated). But it also could be a fungal infection like tip blight, or a result of insect damage.

You may need to take some samples to an arborist.

It has not been a drought, it has been fairly wetter than normal. The pine tree is in zip code 60060, north of Chicago. The weather has been all over, it has been fairly hot, then fairly cold then normal.

The location is fairly "foresty" there are large trees. I had cut off the yellowish twigs, some twigs are bare but not sure if that is normal?

Each week I pour 5 gallons of water onto and around the pine tree, not sure that is too much?

Any recommendation for spray to keep the bugs out?
