help germinating baobab

I have some african baobab (adansonia digitata) seeds that I need some help on getting to germinate. I know they can take up to a year to germinate, but I am not completely sure how to do it. I have soaked them in HOT water until it cooled and currently have them in a baggie sitting on a moist paper towel. I have applied a little heat to them, but was just wondering if anyone would do this differently. Open to all suggestions.
(btw, they have swollen up to about 3x their normal size.)

After 5 days of soaking in the moist baggie, I decided to scarify them a little. All of them revealed a clearish hard shell underneath with a yellow tint through it. I am new to growing from seed is this a good sign?

I grew two baobab trees many years ago, but I frankly don't recall how I got them to germinate.

baobabs.com claims germination in a week to 10 days, with no particular seed treatment.

does it matter which end you scarify?
