Fire Blight

I am hoping someone will be able to help me. I have a Kwanzan Cherry Tree that is infected with Fire Blight. The tree is 5 years old and to far gone to save. I was planning on replacing the tree with a Japanese Maple. My question is since I'm planting the new tree in roughly the same location as the infected tree will the new one be at risk to catch this disease? I appreciate any information and help! Thank you

Fire blight is a special problem for me whenever trying to grow apple trees or pear trees, most of which are susceptible to fire blight infection and damage. The trees usually will not last over a few years. I grow a wide variety of Japanese maples however, and have never noticed any damage to them.
