Plant pussy willow in fall

I am in Southwestern Pennsylvania and had my backyard re-landscaped in June (last month). I have a back hillside that slopes down at 45%. I have already lost some soil from erosion with heavy rain that we had. I want to plant pussy willow at the edge of the yard to create a screen boundary and save the soil from erosion down the hill. Will I be successful to plant the pussy willow in September or October or do I need to wait until spring. I would like to stabilize the downward slope in the fall instead of waiting until spring. What does anyone think of fall pussy willow planting? Thank you.

I routinely plant trees in the fall.
