Purple smokebush experience

I bought and planted a purple smokebush yesterday after doing some research in both books and the internet. Last night I was talking to a local horticulturist who said BEWARE because they drop seeds which grow readily and become downright invasive. None of my research mentioned that, in fact, one book said that they were tough to start from seed. I planted this bush right next to the wetland bordering my property and make a point of not intrudocing anything invasive on that side. If anyone has any experience with these bushes, I would appreciate your input.

I have had mine for 10 years in that time I have not had one single sapling. Maybe he is confusing it with Sambucus Black Lace which does seed quite readily and has dark purple leaves.

I am very much reassured. Guess I will take my chances and let her grow. Thanks much for your input :)
