Growing Vibirnum from seed? & questions.

We can't seem to find what we want in stock anywhere so we have found a place for buying viburnum seeds....

1. Are they easy to grow, and if so, how fast do they grow?

2. Also, I have been told by a guy who works in Philly in the park system as groundskeeper, that viburnum are not usually bothered by deer, which is why I am considering them..... thoughts on that?

3. Which varieties tend to be REALLY colorful? I am hoping to hide some low level brush from someone else' property, so I may as well go for color. :)

My prefered time to start woodland seeds is in the fall and to let seeds cold stratify (outdoors) over the course of a winter.

That said. Set out seed in a germinating pan, and keep them inside a rodent proof cage till sprouted.

hmmm, Westtown area?

viburnum from seed can be tricky and take a long time.
much faster to start with field grown plants.

davesgarden.com has a fair amount of info / pix / data

perhaps someone knows of a specialty nursery that may have a larger selection.
