Newly planted Japanese Umbrella Pine brown on one side only?

Hello all! Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a newly planted Japanese umbrella pine that was planted about 2 weeks ago following all the good advice on this forum. I just noticed today that a small vertical strip of needles are starting to brown (see pictures). I do not thing it is the watering or the sun as there is an identical Japanese umbrella pine planted a few feet away that receives the same amount of water and sun and has no problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like it could have been wind-burned in transit. Is it possible that the tarp wasn't completely covering the plant on it's ride home or possibly laid on the tree in the sun for too long. Nice tree, other than that.
