best time to plant a Nellie Stevens Holly tree?

Hi! I read that its good to plant these trees in early spring or early fall. I feel I missed the "early" spring window, and it's getting a bit hot now too (70's-low 80's lately in VA) but is it still ok to plant these now or should I wait until Sept or Oct? I don't want it to dry out now (I could/would provide a lot of water) but also read these trees can "dry out" in the winter months, so I'm really not sure what to do.

If you water it enough, you can still plant.

Enough in Virginia might be every day till fall.

I'm just sayin'.
