Looks like some sort of shrub??

I bought a seed pack and don't know what kind of animal this is, please see picture. I am posting a picture of the leaf formation and it has grown to the approximate size of 5' in about 5 months.

That is a strange looking plant! Now, I might be wrong, but when I saw it, I thought "Huh. it looks like A HOUSEPLANT called 'Ming aralia'."

Possibly, but I'm not entirely convinced:

But you notice I didn't come up with any suggestions. I looked at all the usual flat needled suspects, cypress, cedar, yew etc and it didn't match any of them. So I'm thinking it is something exotic.

flowers will help the ID immensely (looks like they're probably not too far off). to me it looks like something perennial and herbaceous, not a shrub. you think it's from a seed you planted?

I'm leaning towards something in the Apiaceae family. looks like you'll be getting umbel-type flowers, anyway,just from growth form.

Oh right... maybe just power of suggestion, I was thinking woody shrubs.

How about poison hemlock?

It would easily be as big as the plant pictured...

Rainbow is on it. Poison Hemlock it is, and as the name suggests all parts of the plant are poisonous. It's the plant Socrates was killed with. Paralizes your breathing.
