How close to the house?

I have just planted a Prunus Kursar tree (ornamental cherry) in my front garden. It is 4 metres from the house. Is this a safe enough distance for the roots and for the eventual mature spread of the branches? Ive read in some sites that the mature spread can be about 4 metres and on others 8 metres. I'm not sure which is correct. Can someone help?

Well if you planted it 4 meters from the house and if the eventual spread is 8 meters your safe. And if the spread is only 4 meters even better. Not to worry, I think you've done well. Janet
