Rhododendrons

I have this beautiful yellow rhododendron at my house and it was doing spectacular before I got my 4 month old rottweiler puppy back in October.

It had atleast 5 branches off the main stem and now, only one has survived. Boo actually ripped off 3 of the 5 and I thought the 2 remaining were fine but only the one has remained and bloomed into the pretty yellow flowers. I look at it and want to cry!

How can I make it look full again? I know it will take years but it looks so lanky now without the other branches and I know I'm going to have to cut that dead one off.

I live in SW PA. Please help me help my baby rhody! :?
