Pin Oak, not producing leaves on one side

I have a mature (20+ year old) pin oak tree in my front yard. In the past, the tree would full of leaves. However, for the last two years, the southside of the tree hasn't produced any leaves.

Some say the tree is dead, but I don't believe so because it still produces leaves...but only on the north side of the tree.

I don't want to remove the tree because it has been in my yard for years.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

It seems to be dead on one side possibly caused by lightening. You may want to call an arborist and ask them what they think. It would be better to cut down before a storm comes and knocks it into your house.
