Maple Tree ID

Hi, our local nursery told us that this tree was a hybrid between a Silver Leaf Maple and a Japanese maple. Do we know what kind of tree is this? Thanks a lot!

Although regular japanese maples do get large, 15', I doubt it is a cross, I beleive it is a silver maple or a variant of one.

I don't think there is a hybrid between a Japanese Maple and a Silver Maple. You probably have a Silver Maple cultivar. There are several cultivars of Silver maple that have deeply lobed, cutleaf appearances to the foliage. Silver Maple 'Skinner' is one such cultivar, which is probably what you have.
