Overfed holly - will it come back?

I have a holly shrub that I overfed with Miracid this Summer. I won't go into how I did it (long story), but the entire plant has definitely turned brown, all the leaves are shriveled and so are the berries.

My question is - do hollies regenerate their leaves or did I kill it? I haven't seen any signs of new growth anywhere and it's been a couple months. Just wondering if I should replace it now or see if it grows next Spring?
