something wrong with my oak tree

we have a oak tree that has sap oozing down the sides its like it starts from a point and just runs down the tree. They are all over the tree do u think this maybe a borer bug?

Could be a borer or maybe a woodpecker or maybe some other damage. Oaks are hearty so I wouldn't worry that much but if it continues next year you might want to contact someone with experience in arborculture.

Soun like a a bacterial disease. Sap may continue to ooze for several weeks or months, but usually it eventually stops with no treatment and no apparent damage to the tree. This slime flux may be triggered by heat, drought and other stress.
