Tree or shrub identification please.

I was given this plant as it wasnt doing much in the polytunnel round my parents, it had 3 middle uprights only about February time.
Since I put it in a big pot with some really good compost its gone mad!, my mother said she believed this to be an Almond or peach but more likely an Almond as ithad been a while since she put it in a pot from stone.

Ive been looking for pictures on the web for Almond tree's and it doesnt seem to look like a typical start of a tree. too many bushy bits.

Any ideas please?

Tony

It's definately not a peach, and the growth habit and stems don't look much like an almond tree (stems look fuzzy to me). Perhaps a buddleia?

Thanks for the reply microcollie, the stems arent fuzzy, maybe just how it looks on the picture, compared to the buddliea ive got, the leaves are slimmer and lighter in green, also the veins in the leaves are different.

Tim will tell what it is.
