Caragana Bushes, are they poisonous to animals?

Just wondered if anyone knows if they are poisonous to animals? Example----horses, dogs, cats? I want to plant a hedge of them and need to know, as there is a miniature horse and two dogs in the fenced in area. Should we hook up our electric fencer to keep the dogs from digging them up and the horse eating them? Thanks. :)

It shouldn't be since humans eat the peas as well. If you want it to grow into a bush after the second year prune back to 12" above ground since if proper nutrients are applied it could grow 4' in a year. Just don't plant them so close to the horse and it all depends what you use to amend the soil when planting if your dogs will dig them up. Since I am from the old school of planting if you amend with compost of manure or compost and throw in a handful of bone meal in each hole yes the dogs could well dig them up so lay chicken wire on the ground so they cannot.
