Shingles

I was wondering if trees can get shingles? If so how can you id them? the guy that does the spraying told me that our tree had shingles but when he showed me it just looked like that light green moss or fungus that grows on most trees.

Some people refer to lichens as shingles. It's common for certain lichens to grow on trees and shrubs. The lichens do no harm and are not an indicator of a problem with the tree or shrub.

Almost every tree and shrub in my yard has lichens and moss growing on it, and they are all doing just fine.

This article will tell you more that you probably ever wanted to know about lichens.
