Hello, I'm callum, new to the site, hopefully my first post/question will go well!
In my mums back garden I have a nicely sized/shapen holly tree...
But this year its looking very sparse! It does suffer from leaf mite but I didnt think it could get that severe?
Also it has no spikes on its leaves, they are just oval shaped with the occasional spike, I know there are certain species which grow like that, but I swear I remember it having spikes years ago.
Has anyone got any idea's what it is suffering from? Good ways to treat it, and such, ive got no idea and my searches on the net are in vein!

What's on the otherside of the fence? Yellow leaves means it is shedding, no big deal but it looks as if the leaves are becoming unprickley so something is bothering it and maybe it's on the other side since it is close to the fence but an attractive clump. Heck I had a bulldozer dig up a clump on my lot sit it down, dug a hole then planted it and it's still living. English holly similar to your tree.

Sadly I don't live with my mum so ill have to get some more info soon, luckily I get on well with nextdoor neighbours so ill check the other side of the fence soon, if I remember well, there is not much on the other side, bit of grass and a raised flower bed (raised a few foot), but ill double check.
