need help with newly planted yews (densiformis)

Hello,

I planted densiformis yews (young, 2' H x 2' W) in mid -april and they aren't looking healthy. The needles are turning brown and falling off both on top of the plant and near the base. I planted with a mixture of peat moss, soil, and bone meal (to help encourage root growth) and I water about once or twice a week. I heard these yews are very low maintenance so I don't know why they're dying. :(

Any comments or questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, the best time to plant conifers is in the fall. When planted in the spring or summer this tends to happen. Be sure that you water them well to keep them going a long.
