Can I propagate more pecan trees by taking cuttings from my existing one and 'rooting' them? Looking for a low-cost way to proliferate fruit and nut trees on my little patch of land.
my references all seem to say that while some experimenters have gotten cuttings to root, they don't tend to survive the winter...aside from that, root cuttings can work, but they're kind of a lot more work than the other kinds, and damage the existing tree(s)...pecans are usually propagated via seed.
