shrub bed

Hi
Would like to make a low maintenance shrub bed, approximately 16ftx10ft,incorparating evergreens flowering shrubs etc,things I had in mind where tall conifer at the rear,with things like pieris red robin.and mahonia,in front smalller plants in front of these any ideas would be most appreciated, along with amount of plants with planting distances,and positioning,tall at the rear,sloping off at the front,many thanks for your trouble if you reply.

I presume you are in the U.K. so I don't know what plant selection you have but I'll give it a shot based upon the USA has. Potentilla, blooms all summer, deciduous, Euonymous, evergreen, will spread, Cotoneaster, semi-evergreen, will also spread, Juniper I like Blue Pacific, and then mix in some perennials.

I'm sorry but we have far too little information to offer a responsible response. How much sun does your bed get? What is the soil like? Does the spot tend to be moist or dry? Can the plants reach outside of the 10' x 16' space or is it flush up against a building?
