How do I get Holly Berries?

I have a Llex Aquifoliu which is a year or so old and it has no berries. I have a rough idea that these trees have a female and male version but no nothing else. Could someone please tell me what I need to do to see some berries?

Yup. No male for that girl gets you no berries. To keep your best production get the same male variety. If all else is good, you should get your berries. One male will pollinate several plants, so you could even add more females.

Are you sure your holly is female? As this shrub can be either male OR female.
It's too late this year, but next spring compare the flowers with those in the picture on the following website (scroll down).

If it's a male then you'll have no problem getting berries on any future hollies that you may plant! [/url]
