Miracle Gro fried my Cherry Tree - How can I revive it?

In March I bought a weeping cherry tree.
It seemed to be doing okay.
It lost its leaves and then grew back some more.
I sprayed some miracle grow on the day lilies I have around it....
And it looks like it fried the tree.
Within days the leaves were brown and crumbling.
I checked the branches and they seem to still be alive...but nothing is growing on them. I water the tree every day or so (depending on the rain we get) and everything around it is flourishing.

It doesn't seem dead....but it sure looks depressing.
I've tried snipping the ends of the branches to see if that would do anything. Is there something else I can do to save this poor little guy?

Yes, synthetic fertilizers will fry a tree or any plant if you overdose them. Also, these ferilizers can build up in the soil and fry your plants even if you don't overdose them so, we recommend using organic fertilizers. I would add some diluted liquid fish fertilizer (the stinky stuff) to try and rebuild the fried roots. Also, give your tree a good soaking to try and wash away the excess salts that have built up in the soil before applying the liquid fish fertilizer..
