false cypress

I planted a false boulevard cypress chamaecyparis pisifera about two months ago, and now needles on the the interior of the shrub near the 'trunk' are turning a yellowish green, and is spreading. Is this just the fall colour? Or is this nutrient deficiency? I've fertilized it with bone meal. Any other tips?

It is an evergreen; it doesn't get "fall color." However, the oldest leaves in the interior do turn yellow and die off. This is a natural process and doesn't mean something is wrong with it. If it seems to be excessive and not just older ones, inspect closely for spider mites, which can cause similar condition.
