Can anyone identify these trees?

Hello - Can anyone identify what kind of trees these are? I am in the Washington, D.C. area if that helps.

Thanks for your help.

The one with the red stems looks like a red maple and the other I am not certain but reminds me of an oak.

The one with red stems is definitely a maple. I'm thinking silver maple not red maple. You could tell if you turn the leaves over. If it is a silver maple, the leaves will be very pale green ("silvery" ) on the underside. Red maple not so much. Red maples also get much redder fall color, silver maples mostly yellow brown... but baby trees don't get so much fall color til they get a little bigger. Here's a nice little website on identifying maple trees:

Not so sure about the other one. Could be some kind of oak. Most oak leaves are much more deeply lobed than that, but willow oak and laurel oak aren't.

It looks a bit like my pawpaw trees, but they have less wavy edges and leaves arranged differently...

maybe umbrella magnolia? Here's a picture of that
